WIC Community, per their request, we are looking to provide DOE feedback on their current investment profile and priorities. This is a great opportunity to share our industry's thoughts on Ideas, Concerns and Suggestions.
NOTE:
Our formal response will be normalized and not attributed to any company.

Schedule: Due 6/12/2020

Low Cost, Low-Impact Hydropower Technology R&D: Technology development is support of new Standard Modular Hydropower (SMH) technologies for existing water infrastructure and new stream-reach development. Work in this area include: Advancements in manufacturing and materials, modular system designs to custom-engineering and construction costs and timelines, critical testing infrastructure for new technologies .

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and helping steer the investments at our Agency(s).

This work is important to determine how far the industry can go to reduce the first cost of hydro installations. to the extent that these concepts can introduce pre-approved mitigations it would be really beneficial. It would be good for all to create solutions for siting and environmental issues addressed with the approved technology and not multi-year field studies, mitigation development, negotiations, and final application.
